Junior Varsity

       This volleyball season at Haynes Academy is off to a great start. The Lady Jackets Varsity volleyball team so far has 8 wins and 3 losses. The jackets practice everyday during the school week unless they are out playing games. Captain of the team is senior Katie Philippi. When talking to Katie she sees the team going to playoffs once again this year and replied, “I have a lot of faith in our team. We have been playing together for a while and we know how to play well with each other. On a volleyball team, there isn’t just one great player. It takes a bunch of individuals that want to come out and work hard. It is all about a team mentality and I think that if our team can keep that in mind, then we will definitely be in playoffs.” This will be Katie’s fourth year on the team and she says by being captain, “I try my best to encourage my teammates and help them improve their game”.

The girls will start playing district games soon. October 18^th is our big Breast Cancer Awareness game: both teams will be wearing pink accessories such as socks, shoelaces, ribbons, and t-shirts. Everyone should come out to the volleyball game and you will get class cup points.
